Recipe Giftbook is a very different kind of wedding gift, and when the company’s founder came to us to build their website from scratch we knew we’d be helping to create a feature-packed and truly personalised online business.
Once the happy couple have chosen from one of six book layouts and decided on the titles, contents page and font for the whole book, it’s over to the guests to fill it. They are invited to do so via a unique code, and from there they can login, choose a page layout and contribute their favourite recipe and personal message in either English or Welsh.
We built the finished site using the Expression Engine content management system, allowing for endless bespoke functions and customised features, while guaranteeing a high speed website for the best possible user experience. We also worked with Rose-Innes Designs to create a site design that stands out from the crowd.
Visitors can upload their own images or choose from a built-in bank of quality photos, and can see a running preview of their work as they build their page. The integrated eCommerce system will then facilitate the online payment for each guest’s contributions.
We set-up a notification function to provide automated updates to the bride, groom and guests and keep them posted on the book’s progress. Two weeks after the wedding the book will then close to guests, and once the bride and groom have approved the book they can send it to print via Recipe Giftbook site.
In October 2015, Recipe Giftbook won the Jacqueline Gold #wow award, celebrating women in business. We are proud to have played a part in helping realise our client’s business aspirations.
