AI website builders promise a website in minutes. What you get is a first draft: it may look fine on the surface, but nobody has thought about your customers, your search rankings, your security or what happens when something breaks.
And when software has to run part of your business, such as taking bookings, managing customers, handling payments or connecting your systems, there is far more to it than how it looks.
What they leave out
- Security. Logins, permissions and customer data need protecting properly, and keeping secure as new vulnerabilities appear.
- Integrations. Getting your accounting, CRM, payment and email systems talking to each other reliably, and handling it when one of them changes.
- Your business rules. The way your business actually works, including the exceptions, is what makes software useful. That takes conversations, not just prompts.
- Hosting and monitoring. Someone needs to keep it online, backed up and fast, and notice when something goes wrong.
- Support over time. Software is never finished. It needs updates, fixes and improvements for as long as you use it.
