Every customer's business and therefore their website requirements are different. Some customers want a simple 5 page brochure website with minimal, simple design, yet others have hundreds of pages, member registrations and logins, forums, social interaction, blogs and a lot more.

With so many different computers, mobile devices and browsers being used to access websites it's clear that websites need to be designed for a lot more than just Internet Explorer these days. We have to consider the different versions of Internet Explorer (7, 8, 9 and soon 10), Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Opera, how these look on a Windows, Mac OSX and Linux computers, and then on different devices such as the iPad, iPhone, Android Phones and Tablets, and Blackberry Smartphones.

I recently finished a database intensive website using the Joomla content management system, and upon release the website popularity and therefore high database queries put quite a strain on the site which slowed it down more than usual. I’ve had a few clients recently ask me to setup a blogging system. I nearly always recommend WordPress because it is one of the most common and powerful blogging systems available and is free to download and use. Setting up the blog is straightforward if you know how to FTP and create a MySQL database on your web hosting account. Once setup it is ready to go, you can start blogging right away.
Having a busy schedule means I find it hard to update Twitter often so I am always looking at ways to help. Although it is recommended to write and post the tweets yourself to provide a human interaction, there are a number of automated tweeting systems that can compliment your usual tweeting schedule and make life easier.
