We have published our new blog at http://www.amityweb.co.uk/blog/. The aim of the blog is to publish articles on web design and development related topics primarily aimed at website owners to increase their knowledge and experience in this area.
I am big fan of the Joomla Content Management System. I must have developed over 50 websites using Joomla over the past few years. With so many advantages over other systems it is my CMS of choice. That said, it’s still not widely known outside the tech world, with so many website owners not hearing of it. This blog is to provide some information about the benefits of using Joomla.
One of the biggest issues I have with some web and graphic designers is that they still do not provide website content management systems (CMS) for clients and are still developing static websites in plain HTML. That means separate files for each webpage with the design and content embedded into each file (shivers run down spine). Not at all good for updating design or maintaining content.
With years of exeprience developing websites, it’s a big surprise to me I don’t blog about it. I have picked up a wealth of information about Web Design and Development, CSS, HTML, PHP, MySQL, Joomla, Zencart, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), the internet and more! Hopefully I will add WordPress to this list. I am also a keen baker with CakePHP.
The Local Investment Fund (LIF) can provide up to 40% of eligible expenditure up to a maximum of £10,000 (minimum grant £1000) toward the costs for the design, development and hosting of your website and/or shopping cart.
Our presentation at the Caerphilly Bisnet Club on Tuesday 2nd December 2008 was a great success. The presentation, "How to Use Free Tools To Improve Your Website" was presented to local businesses by Laurence Cope with the aim of introducing the excellent free open source tools available on the internet that can be used to improve their websites.
4Networking is a continuously expanding and vibrant breakfast networking group that allows businesses to network over a delicious breakfast in a non-formal, fun and social way. Allowing people to meet other local businesses will ensure an increase in local exposure leading to more customers and quality suppliers for your business. The online forum is a great way to meet like minded people to do business with further afield.
We are proud to announce our acceptance onto the Best of Caerphilly Business Directory and guide. The Best of Caerphilly only accepts the top 5 suppliers to be listed in their business directory, so we are very happy that we have achieved this status. It's very important to us that we provide the best service possible to all our clients before, during and after projects are completed, so this listing is testimonial to that.
